Compliance is something you have to be able to show. CookieForever keeps the record as it goes, so it is ready before anyone asks.
What is kept
A receipt for every choice
Each answer is stored with the time, the choices, the categories as the visitor saw them, the banner version and the privacy rules that applied.
Receipts are never changed
A receipt is not edited afterwards. A new answer adds a new receipt, so the history stays complete.
The visitor can see it too
Your cookie policy shows the visitor their consent ID, when they answered and what they chose.
Banner versions are frozen
Every published banner is a new, unchangeable version with its own label and date, so you can show exactly what a visitor was asked.
A cookie policy with review
A policy version goes from draft through review and approval to published. Published versions cannot be edited; the previous one is archived with its dates.
Who did what, and when
The review history records who submitted, approved and published each version, and when.
